Santa's original baby has made it in the record books once again. Eartha rendition of Santa Baby which was released in 1953, has been certified gold by RIAA for having over 500,000 ringtone downloads. This Eartha fan knows very well that Ms. Kitt's voice endures. It was 1953 and with the recent success of New Faces of 52 Eartha Kitt was off and running. She recorded Santa Baby in '53 with the line "a 54 convertible too, lite blue". This song was also featured in the soundtrack for "Driving Miss Daisy". Eartha credits this song with giving her financial security.
